Welcome! The “Association of MEXT Scholarship Alumni of Japan in Greece” was established in 2025, with its headquarters in Athens. Our members are graduates of the MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) scholarship programme of the Government of Japan for postgraduate studies in Japan.
Our purpose is to foster and strengthen relationships among alumni, as well as with members of corresponding MEXT Alumni Associations abroad.
Our activities include cultural exchanges, social and educational events that promote professional networking opportunities, as well as Japanese education and culture in Greece.
What unites us are our shared experiences, our multifaceted knowledge of Japanese cultural, social, educational and professional life, and, above all, our deep love and respect for Japan.

Message from the President
Welcome to the website of the Association of MEXT Scholarship Alumni of Japan in Greece!
We created this website for all recipients of the Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarship who studied in Japan, as well as for anyone interested in learning more about the MEXT scholarship, drawing on the experiences and knowledge of all of us who had this unique opportunity.
Our Association brings together scientists and professionals from a wide range of fields who have specialised and obtained qualifications from various public and private universities in Japan.
Our goal is to bring all scholarship alumni closer together and keep alive the unique experience we shared, while also strengthening and sharing with everyone our love and enthusiasm for Japanese education and culture.
It is our priority to invite and inform young people who are considering studying in Japan, drawing on the many years of valuable experience of our scholarship alumni. Studying in Japan is an experience that extends far beyond the academic environment… Life in Japan itself shapes the way we think, collaborate and perceive the world.
I invite you to actively participate as members of the Association, so that together we can build a strong, trusted and outward-looking community founded on knowledge, collaboration and a shared love for Japan.
The president,
Kleio Katsoridi
